Air-source heat pumps (ASHPs) are all-electric building heating and cooling solutions that use electrical energy to move (not convert) thermal energy from a source to a sink, where the source is the outdoors in the winter and indoors in the summer. An ASHP thus pumps heat in the opposite direction from which it would normally move.

The Daikin Rebel DPS-003 is a variable speed, 3 ton heat pump with a SEER of 16.9 and an EER of 13.5, a high-heating capacity of 32,000 Btu/h with an HSPF of 9.2 and a low-heating capacity of 20,000 Btu/h.
