Data Collection
The evaluation team surveyed individuals with experience in installation, operation, and/or maintenance of advanced variable speed motor and drives.
Sample Size

Scoring
These scores describe user experience with high efficiency motors in general, not differentiating among specific products. A 5-point rating (1-5) for each subscale was calculated as the mean of responses to all questions in the subscale--all asked with a 5-point response scale [Strongly disagree (1) to Strongly agree (5)]. Negatively framed questions were reverse-scored. Higher scores mean better user experience.
Installation
Finding a qualified installer was easy. I was satisfied with the installer's scheduling of the initial work. Installation was a similar degree of difficulty as typical variable speed [motors/drives]. The instructions for installing were clear and easy to follow. I needed technical support for setup. The instructions for installing and setting up the [motor/drive] were clear and easy to follow.
Performance
The motor operates well; The motor has had performance issues; Occupants/users have made complains about the motor; The motor makes a lot of noise; The motor overheats frequently; The motor does not vibrate a lot.
Maintenance
It is difficult to find a service provider that performs maintenance on the motor; The motor is easy to maintain; Maintenance requires special tools; Maintenance requires special training.
Usability
System Usability Scale (SUS): I found the system unnecessarily complex; I thought the system and service was easy to use; I think that I would need more technical support to be able to use the system and service; I found the various functions in this system and service were wll integrated; I though there was too much inconsistency in the system and service; I would imagine that most people in my role would learn to use this system and service very quickly; I found the system and service very cumbersome or awkward to use; I felt very confident using the system and service.
General Satisfaction
Overall, I am satisfied with the [motor/drive]; If my organization needed another energy storage system, I would select this [motor/drive] again; I would recommend the [motor/drive] to others.
